Agree with your view regarding sports celebs or "celebs" of any flavor.

But pols? Hell yes you should care. We all should care, because if we don't care then we deserve what we get.

And what's coming really sucks.

agreed mando, i didn't really spell it out the way i meant, as you stated ... just weary and tired of all the non-stuff that is more ego than anything else, celebrities, of any flavour, be damned; if celebs and their goings on are what you're into, have at it, but i'll still skewer and poke at will; cheers

Arb - Understood.

I pretty much hate all "celebrities" and could give a rat's ass whose gully Lindsay Lohan is yodelling in this week or which country Angelina Jolie is collecting her next child from.

But I hate professional, multi-term politicians even more and while I applaud those who can make the "Gandhi" approach work for them, I can't do it. If we only knew what these morons are doing to OUR country.....

I just finished reading "The Fourth Turning" by Neil Howe and Willaim Strauss. It is an outstanding exploration of generational and societal responses to cyclic human events - a generational High, an Awakening, an Unraveling (what we as young adults experienced) and a Crisis. We are entering the next generational crisis. Today's Millenials - my kids - are going to be the ones who lead us through the coming crisis.

And the fact that 99% of their generation cares more about what cool app they can get for their iPhone brain vacuums than what is happening in and to their country is not very encouraging.

Here's a link to a wiki on "Fourth Turning" - if you're up for a sobering read I'd strongly recommend the book to you and anyone else reading this.

Thanks for the good discussion...peace my friend.
